This is the oldest historical district of Perm.

The village of Motovilikha was established by the end of the XVII century and developed owing to Vasily Tatishchev who started to build copper works at this place. By the 2nd half of the XIX century the village was included into the city of Perm. Officially, the Motovilikha district was formed in 1923.

The main enterprise of the district is the JSC “Motovilikhinskiye Zavody”, one of the oldest machine building factories of the Urals that replaced the copper works founded by Vasily Tatishchev.

In Motovilikha you can find all kind of buildings starting from old wooden houses up to modern high rise edifices. There are also historical monuments like St.Trinity Church, First Perm Cannon displayed at the open-air area of the “Morovilikhinskiye Zavody” museum, Diorama Museum etc. One of the picturesque sites of Motovilikha is a big pond.

Today Motovilikha consists of 17 micro-districts including the most modern and developed.
